Purpose Statement
- The Big Bend Community has made it its prime purpose to obtain
cell phone service for the Intermountain Area of Northeastern Shasta
County.
Our first goal is to submit an application to the California Public Utilities Commission for Phase One of the Rural Telecommunications Grant by February 15th, 2005.
Our second goal is to gain measurable written support from the businesses, residents, emergency services and local governmental agencies of the Intermountain Area.
Our third goal is to identify targeted areas and locations by using maps of the mountains, census data for population density, radio frequency footprint data and general need.
The second purpose is to produce engineering studies and feasibility studies that will show the California Public Utility Commission the project will meet the requirements as set forth by the CPUC in the Phase Two portion of the grant.
The third purpose is to complete the construction of towers and a network to provide cell phone service to the remote areas of North Eastern Shasta County.
These goals will be accomplished by funding from the California Public Utilities Commission, project administration by the Indian Springs Telecom group and fiscal accountability will be done by the Indian Springs School District.
